Patti Louise Chedister, 59, of Fairfield, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005, at her home.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating.

At Ms. Chedister's request the casket will be closed and there will be no visitation.

Friends may sign the register book from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Raymond Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Libertyville Little League or to Fairfield Babe Ruth Baseball.

Ms. Chedister was born April 14, 1946, in Fairfield, the daughter of Walter and Mary Copeland VanDerSnick. She married Mike Chedister Feb. 14, 1970. They were later divorced.

She lived most of her life in Fairfield. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1964 and from the Parc Vue Beauty College in Fairfield.

Ms. Chedister worked at Hy-Vee Food Store as a cashier for 37 years before her retirement in 2003.

Survivors include one aunt, Peg Six of Fairfield; and eight cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter VanDerSnick and her mother, Mary Copeland King.
