Judith "Judy" Ann ALEXANDER was born to Geraldine MITCHELL MURPHY and Edward MURPHY on September 30th, 1952, in Albia, Iowa. Judy passed into eternity on Friday, Nov 11th at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

Memorials can be made to ARC of Jefferson and nearby counties. Cards and memorials can be sent to Doug ALEXANDER 2219 Westhills Dr. Fairfield, IA 52556.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 10, 2022; family will be present from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life service will start at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Cecil officiating. A time of fellowship and a meal will follow at the Elks Lodge. Inurnment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery.

Judy was raised in Albia, Iowa with her siblings, Geraldine Josephine MURPHY (Gerry JO), Sue MURPHY-AMMONS and Eddie Jo MURPHY. Judy graduated High School in Albia in 1970, attended Ottumwa Heights for 2 years and graduated from St. Ambrose University with a BS degree in 1974.

She married Doug ALEXANDER April 16th, 1979. They celebrated 43 years of marriage this year.

Judy had a lifelong dedication not only to her 3 beloved sons, Jeff, Chris and Matthew and her 11 grandchildren, but had a dedication to helping individuals with developmental disorders and brain injuries as well as persons with mental health issues.

Her passion and dedication lead (sic) her to create Southeast Iowa Case Management. Through her company she created a culture that was the gold standard in mental health care that served clients in more than 25 Iowa counties and holding true her creed "Turning disability into ability since 1993", putting hundreds of developmentally challenged people in jobs, homes and beyond. She was named Fairfield Iowa Business Woman of the Year by the Fairfield Business & Professional Women in 1999.

Judy loved the beach, built her dream log home in 2008 and, of course, spoiling her grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her husband Douglas ALEXANDER, her three sons Jeffry, Christopher and Matthew ALEXANDER; her daughter-in-law Lindsey ALEXANDER; her grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob, Joshua, Ashlynne, Ethan, Jordan Jaxon, Madylyn, Lillian, Bastian, Roselyn and Julien; her nieces and nephews, Melissa ALEXANDER PODLISKA, Michael ALEXANDER, Scott, Jason, Ryan, Nathan AMMONS, Molly AMMONS McLAUGHLIN, Brett and Grant STINE; siblings, Susan (Alan) AMMONS, Ed (Sue) MURPHY; sisters-in-law, Pam ALEXANDER and Becky (Jack) STINE; and brother-in-law John (Laura) ALEXANDER.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Gerri MURPHY; and her sister, Gerri Jo MURPHY.
