ANN KATHLEEN LANE
Fairfield

Ann Kathleen LANE, 74, of Fairfield, Iowa, died peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2022, surrounded by family. A visitation will be held beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, October 17, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Fairfield, followed immediately by a funeral service at 10 a.m. A private burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Harper, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, to honor Ann's years-long fight against this devastating diagnosis.

Ann was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 6, 1948, to John and Elizabeth O'CONNELL. Ann attended Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, and married Al, her college sweetheart on November 18, 1967. Ann had her hands full as a devoted mother and homemaker, raising three boys while helping run their family business in Sigourney. They later moved to Keosauqua and then Fairfield, where Ann served a 25-year career as an office manager for a local medical clinic, and later retired.

Faith, family and community were important in Ann's life. Ann was a tireless volunteer, devoting time to Hospice, American Cancer Society and her church. Ann enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends, taco dinners with the Noller and Frank families, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Al; children, Tim (Carrie) of Le Claire, Iowa, Brian (Beth) of Jefferson City, Missouri, and David (Julie) of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Katie (Andrew) McCABE, Emily, Madeline (Alberto) VARGAS, Mia, Daniel, Christopher and Michael; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Zachary; brothers, Pat and Dan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mike.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the frontline staff at Addington Place, Compassus Hospice, Ravenwood and the Alzheimer's Association for their ongoing support since Ann's diagnosis.
