Illness Fatal To William GARRETT

William C. GARRETT, 81, retired Fairfield carpenter, died at 4 a.m. today at the Ottumwa hospital (note: in Wapello Co., IA). He had been a patient there for seven weeks.

GARRETT had been a resident of Fairfield for 40 years. His home was at 308 W. Jefferson St.

Last rites will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of A. K. Harper. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

GARRETT was born May 1, 1876 near Raritan, Ill., the son of Harvey and Mary THOMPSON GARRETT. He attended grade school and high school at Roseville, Ill., and Media Academy at Media, Ill. He was married to Alberta ATKINS at Macomb, Ill., Aug. 18, 1897.

Mr. and Mrs. GARRETT moved to Fairfield Dec. 1, 1917. GARRETT was a member of the Baptist church. He is survived by his wife and a number of nieces and nephews.
