Robert "Bob" CREEK was born to Raymond "Cap" and Wilma FITE CREEK in their home in Batavia, IA on June 29, 1929. He graduated from Batavia High School with the class of 1947. Bob married Shirley BEST of Ottumwa on October 6, 1949, at the Open Bible Church of Ottumwa, where they were both members. They were married for over 71 years.

While in high school Bob worked for his Uncle Raleigh CREEK, setting and moving houses. After high school he began working at John Morrells in Ottumwa on the loading dock. Bob then drove a milk delivery route. Eventually he started working with his father at their family business of Creek Oil Company in Batavia. At this time, Bob and Shirley moved to the country and started a dairy farm that they owned and operated for 21 years. After the dairy farm Bob became in independent, over the road truck driver, which eventually worked into team truck driving with his wife Shirley for Rose Way Trucking out of Des Moines, IA.

Robert was an active member of his community. He served on the Batavia City Council, Jefferson County Saddle Club, and was the Trustee for Locust Grove Township. Some of his hobbies included raising and showing quarter horses with his children, announcing horse shows in Jefferson County, camping at lake Rathbun with family and friends and recanting memories. Bob never knew a stranger and enjoyed visiting with everyone he met.

Those left to cherish his memory are two children, Cindy (Rick) BENNETT of Batavia, IA and Randy (Carletta) CREEK of Agency, IA; six grandchildren, as well as many extended family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, his only sibling, Donna BOLING and his loving wife Shirley.
