Note: Charles was born November 14, 1868, in Sweden, and died May 20, 1941, aged 72y 6m 6d, according to his Death Certificate. Both the certificate and his obituary state he was buried in Union Cemetery (south of Parsonsville, in Section 31 of Lockridge Twp.), although a canvass of this cemetery in 1969 did not catalog his burial. Perhaps he did not have a gravestone. Charles was the son of Frederick and Charlotte (her maiden name not indicated on the Death Certificate nor in the 1925 IA Census, which asks for parents' names). The surviving sister, Mrs. HENNESS, was Selma, who married Charles S. HENNESS in 1913; her parents were listed on the marriage license as Fred JOHNSON and Annice ANDERSON.
