Charlene Silvers Beach, 71, of Michigan, died Thursday, July 28, 2005, at her home.

The body has been cremated.

A visitation for family and friends will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Community of Christ Church in Oskaloosa. A memorial service, hosted by her brothers and sister, will be at 7 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Beach was born June 30, 1934, in Oskaloosa, the daughter of Guy and Ruby McNeece Silvers. She married Melvin Beach Oct. 20, 1951. He died in February 2004.

The couple lived in Michigan until Mr. Beach retired, then they lived in New Mexico. The couple returned to Michigan when their health worsened.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Beach and Kathy Danner, both of Michigan; four brothers, Merle Silvers of Fairfield, Dick Silvers of Oskaloosa, Jerry Silvers of Atlanta, Ga., and David Silvers of Ollie; one sister, Dixie Engle of Fairfield; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, James Silvers.
