Catherine FRANKS, wife of Jacob FUNCK, died at her home in Buchanan township, five miles northeast of the city, Monday, from disease of the heart, after a long and painful illness. Deceased was born in Perry county, Penn., September 20th, 1833. With her parents she came to Des Moines, county, this state, in 1850, where, March 30th, 1854, she was married to Jacob FUNCK, who survives her. The family removed to this county in 1877, and in the intervening years has made its home in this city and Buchanan township. Mrs. FUNCK was the mother of five children, three of whom are now living and reside in this county, J. N. and C. L. FUNCK and Mrs. WINSELL. She was a devoted and consistent christian woman, and in the communities in which her life was spent she was held in the highest esteem. Funeral services were held in this city Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. F. Magill.
