Mrs. J. W. FULTON, resident of Fairfield for almost 40 years passed away at 4:20 a.m. today at the Briggs-Eskew nursing home.
She had been in failing health for the past several years and had been a patient at the nursing home for two months. She became critically ill Sunday noon.
The body is at the Weston Behner funeral home where last rites are pending.
Mr. and Mrs. FULTON moved to Fairfield from a farm west of the city in 1922. He is a former member of the city council and operated a filling station in the New Chicago district for many years before his retirement.
Mr. and Mrs. FULTON would have been married 67 years on Sept. 27. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1943.
Mary A. FULTON, 89, was born Feb. 7, 1871, at Hastings, Neb., the daughter of George and Sarah MILLER DONAHEY. She was married to J. W. FULTON on Sept. 27, 1893. The wedding took place in Fairfield.
A resident of this county since 1891, she was a member of the Methodist church.
Besides her husband she is survived by the following children; Mrs. Fred OLIVER, Fairfield; J. W. FULTON, now serving with the army at Shreveport, La.; Dr. Albert M. FULTON, member of the faculty at the University of Minnesota; and Mrs. Cecil SNIDER, Reynolds, Ill.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Anna RUSSELL, Pueblo, Colo.
Mrs. FULTON was preceded in death by two brothers and two isters. (sic)

Last rites for Mrs. J. W. FULTON, 89, will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. DST, at the Weston Behner funeral homes with the Rev. J. Roland Crandall officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. FULTON passed away early Monday morning at the Briggs-Eskew Nursing home. She was a long-time resident of the Fairfield community.

Col. and Mrs. Robert FULTON, Mr. and Mrs. Harry FULTON and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne FULTON of Selma; Mrs. J. J. MORRISEY, Ottumwa; the Rev. John MORRISEY, Melrose; Mr. and Mrs. Dwight FULTON and Mr. and Mrs. Carroll LAYMAN, Batavia, and Mrs. George THOMPSON of Libertyville.
Mr. FULTON has received a card from the Southwest Rehabilitation Center for the Blind at Little Rock, Ark., indicating that a contribution has been received as a memorial to Mrs. FULTON. Mr. and Mrs. Vic Rommel, director of Arkansas Enterprises for the Blind, are friends of the FULTON family.

Notice Is Hereby Given, That the undersigned has been duly appointed and qualified as Executor of the estate of Mary A. FULTON deceased, late of Jefferson County.
