Clara May FRY, 51, well known Jefferson county school teacher, passed away about 2:30 a.m. today at the Jefferson county hospital after a serious illness of the past six months.
Last rites will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the Weston Behner funeral home. Rev. J. R. Crandall, pastor of the Methodist church in Stockport, will be in charge, and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Miss FRY was born May 18, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. FRY, who reside southeast of Fairfield. She had been a prominent teacher in Jefferson county for the past 30 years, having taught until May 10, 1946. She was a member of the Methodist church in Stockport and the Eastern Star.
Miss FRY is survived by her parents and two brothers, Chester D. and Guy W. FRY, both living near Fairfield.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening until time for the funeral Friday.

Clara was married in 1919 to Earl William MARSHALL, but was shown as single and living with her parents by the 1925 Census. She was the first of Earl's four wives. He died in 1979 in Marshalltown, IA, and was buried in the Veterans Cemetery there.
