Green Valley, Ariz.Louis L. PALM, 85, of Green Valley, Ariz., formerly of Creston, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at his home. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m, May 3, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. A rosary service will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday before the visitation. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. May 4, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. Father Adam Westphal will officiate. The funeral service will be livestreamed with the link available at www.powersfh.com under the obituary in the events section(.) Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Creston (note: in Union Co., IA). In lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly suggested to go to the Holy Spirit Church or St. Malachy Catholic School. Louis LaVance PALM, son of Paul PALM and Ercel Iowa (KELLER) PALM, was born on Jan. 28, 1937, in Fairfield, Iowa. He graduated from Fairfield High school, with the class of 1955. He furthered his education by obtaining his Bachelor of Business degree from Parsons College in Fairfield.
On Nov. 23, 1961 (sic - 1957), Louis was united in marriage to Janice Elaine SMITH in Fairfield. They moved to Creston shortly after and opened "Palm Clothing" and "LouJans" clothing stores(.)
Louis married Joyce SCHMIDMAN on April 11, 2003, in Kansas City, Kan. They later made their home in Green Valley, Ariz.
Surviving Louis are his wife, Joyce PALM; daughter, Paula Ann PALM; Steven (Alisha) PALM; grandchildren, Grace LEWIS, Louis and Blakely PALM; brothers, Ronald (Khatuna) PALM and Robert PALM; sisters, Rita PICKEN, Marilyn VANDERLIP and Beverly BARNES; along with extended relatives and a host of friends.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Paul PALM and Ercel Iowa (KELLER) PALM; first wife, Janice (SMITH) PALM; and first born daughter, Paula Kay PALM, in infancy.
