HEART ATTACK PROVES FATAL

George W. FRESHWATER, 79, long time resident of Fairfield, passed away suddenly of a heart attack yesterday evening at his home, 706 W. Hempstead street. His death came at 5:55 p.m.

Mr. FRESHWATER was in his usual good health yesterday afternoon, but was stricken suddenly a few hours later.

He was born March 26, 1868, in Missouri, the son of the late Arch and Emilie Jane STINE FRESHWATER. He had lived in Fairfield since childhood.

On september 15, 1891, he married Byrie (sic - Byrlie) CLINKENBEARD who passed away July 15, 1915. Later he married Virginia SNIDER on April 4, 1936, who survives. Mr. FRESHWATER, a member of the Methodist church, retired from employment with the C. R. I. & P. railroad in 1940.

Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Ethel WALKER, Fairfield; Mrs. Frank HOLCOMB, Pontiac, Michigan; Perry, Davenport; Robert, Fairfield; Mrs. Raymond BAKER, Cedar Rapids; Joe, of Fort Pierce, Florida; and Mrs. Winifred EMONIN, Fairfield. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a brother, James FRESHWATER, of Fairfield. One son, Willard, preceded him in death.

FRESHWATER Rites Saturday Evening

Last rites for George W. FRESHWATER will be held Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery at 9:00 a.m. Sunday.

Mr. FRESHWATER passed away suddenly at his home, 706 West Hempstead street, Tuesday evening.

His second wife was Harriet STILES HESTON, married in Ottumwa, IA, in 1924; she died in 1929 and was buried with her HESTON husband, also in Evergreen Cemetery. Virginia HALE SNIDER was his third wife; when she died and where she was buried is not known as of the time of this posting.
