Death of Mrs. FREEMAN.--The death of Mrs. Julia A. FREEMAN, wife of J. D. FREEMAN, on Friday morning last in this city, was a general surprise to everybody. Her sickness was of but short duration, and to many, indeed, it was not even known that she was ill. Her complaint was abcess of the liver. The funeral occurred Saturday afternoon at three o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. M. E. Dwight, of the congregational church. Mrs. FREEMAN was a woman highly respected by everybody, a most worthy woman, a loving wife and a devoted mother. She has brought up a large family, now all grown. Mrs. FREEMAN was fifty-eight years and nine months old. She was born in Monroe county, N. J., and came to Iowa in 1863. In 1865 she removed to Fairfield with her husband and family, and has lived here ever since.

... Eugene FREEMAN, of Paola, Kansas, was in the city several days this week and last, having been called here by the serious illness and death of his mother. Mr. FREEMAN is a very successful jeweler in his new western home, and, among other marks of confidence, has been made one of the city fathers. His hosts of friends were glad to see him again in Fairfield, and all unite in wishing him continued prosperity.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, IA, in Lot Old.P.358. Her maiden name was TUCKER. Husband John died in 1894 and was buried with her.
