Death of John FOGARTY.

After a very serious illness of three weeks John FOGARTY died at his home in this city Sunday evening at 5:30 o'clock. His fatal sickness began with an attack of bilious fever from which he had almost recovered when a relapse occurred followed by a severe attack of pleurisy. Deceased was the oldest and only son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas FOGARTY, the former a well known employee of the C., B & Q in this city for many years. Mr. FOGARTY was in the 23d year of his age, and during his entire life from infancy to manhood he had made Fairfield his home. For nearly three years he had been in the employ of James Sullivan, the grocer, and since January 1st had been a member of the firm of James Sullivan & Co., and gave great promise as a business man. He was a young man of excellent habits and one whom every person of his acquaintance honored for his gentlemanly deportment, his honesty and integrity. His funeral occurred yesterday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church, Father Schiffmacher officiating, and was very largely attended. Death is sad at any time, but the striking down of a bright young life just when its promise is greatest is indeed a matter of sorrow. Many friends of the mourning family will sympathize with them in their affliction.
