MRS. FLINSPACH DIES SUDDENLY AT HER HOME

Death came suddenly this morning to a well known Fairfield woman and graduate of Parsons college. She is Mrs. Wade FLINSPACH, 51, who died at her home, 54 North Cromwell, about 6:30 a.m.

Mrs. FLINSPACH had been ill for the past three weeks but her condition was not considered serious. She took critically ill about 5:00 a.m. this morning and passed away shortly after.

Mrs. FLINSPACH is well known both in Fairfield and Jefferson county. She was an active worker in the Methodist church, was a leader in 4-H work and took part in many club and social affairs.

She had made her hone in Jefferson county for 28 years and had lived in Fairfield since November, 1946.

A long-time member of the Methodist church, she belonged to the Philathea class and taught Sunday school classes for a number of years. She was also past matron of the Eastern Star, a member of the White Shrine, Woman's club and the Past Matron's club.

Mrs. FLINSPACH served as chairman of the public welfare committee of the Woman's club, was active in dramatics and the Little Theater group of the Woman's club, and was mother advisor of the local Rainbow chapter when it was organized in 1929.

She was president of the high school music auxiliary in 1948, and a former leader of the 4-H club in Center township.

Mary Bethel FLINSPACH was born October 31, 1898 at Fremont, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Wallace and Augusta MILLER. She graduated from the Sidney, Iowa, high school in 1914 and Parsons college in 1919.

Wade FLINSPACH and Mary MILLER were united in marriage on August 31, 1921, at the MILLER home near Sidney. The couple returned to Jefferson county and have made their home in this community since.

Mrs. FLINSPACH is survived by her husband and one son, Frederic, who is a student at the State University of Iowa. She is also survived by two sisters: Mrs. Milo AITKEN, Randolph, Iowa, and Mrs. Ada SCHAFF, Randolph; and two brothers: Lyman and Wendell MILLER, both of Shenandoah.

FLINSPACH Funeral To Be On Saturday

Last rites for Mrs. Wade FLINSPACH, prominent Fairfield resident who passed away suddenly yesterday morning, will be held Saturday afternoon.

The services will be at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church with Dr. L. L. Weis in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

The body is at the Monger funeral home.

Note: Buried in Lot 4th.045. Husband Wade subsequently remarried, to Florence LIGHT, died in 1972, and was buried with Mary. Florence died in 1978, and after donating her body to science, the cremains were also inurned in this same lot.
