Edward C. FLINSPACH, 87, lifetime resident of Jefferson county, died about 1:20 a.m. Sunday at the Jefferson county hospital where he had entered as a patient on Dec. 6. The family home is at 504 N. Main.
Last rites will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral home with the Rev. David Funk in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Edward C. FLINSPACH was born May 1, 1875, in Buchanan township, the son of Lorenz and Caroline SCHMETZER FLINSPACH. He was reared and educated in the Richwood community and was married April 19, 1911, to Nancy Ann GILBERT. She passed away March 5, 1967.
They lived on a farm north of Fairfield until 1946 when they moved to Fairfield. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Lutheran church.
FLINSPACH is survived by one daughter, Edna, Ottumwa; one son, Charles, Fairfield; two grandchildren and a brother, Frank FLINSPACH, Fairfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and seven brothers.
