Page 2, olumn 1CARL FISCHER DIED IN HOSPITAL AT POTTERSVILLE (sic), CALIFORNIA
L. L. FISCHER, resding north of the city received a message this morning telling of the death of his son Carl FSICHER which occurred at the hospital at Pottersville (sic - Porterville), California. His death was due to influenza and comes as a great shock to his family and other relatives and friends.
Mr. FISCHER in company with his wife and two little daughters left Fairfield a week ago Monday for their home in Pottersville after having spent several months with relatives here. He was taken ill on Saturday. Mrs. FISCHER is also ill at the hospital with the same disease.
Mr. FISCHER was about thirty years of age and is survived by his wife who was formerly Miss Lucile ANDERSON and two little daughters(.)
The remains will be shipped to this city for burial. No arrangements will be made for the funeral until the arrival of the remains.

C. H. FISHER whose body was buried here had spent the winter in this vicinity and died the day following his arrival in California.
Carl Harris FISHER was born in Muscatine county, Iowa, September 27th, 1892 and died in a hospital at at (sic) Portersville, California, February 24th, 1919, aged 26 years 4 month and 27 days.
He came, with his parents, to this city when about eighteen months old, and spent his life here until five years ago when he moved to Portersville, California.
He was married to Lucille ANDERSON, March 7th, 1915 at Portersville California to which union there was born two daughters, Doris Alice aged 3 years and Thelma Lucille, aged 2 years.
Aside from the wife and two daughters he leaves his father, L. L. FISHER, his mother and one sister, La Rue, and one brother, Robert. He had been a member of the Methodist Episcol (sic) church since childhood. He was a kind and loving husband and father and leaves many friends here as in California.
