DEATH TAKES W. J. FICKEL

William J. FICKEL, 73, prominent Wapello county farmer, passed away late Sunday afternoon at his farm home four miles northeast of Eldon. His death came at 6:45 p.m. Mr. FICKEL suffered a heart attack Thursday which developed into pneumonia, and suffered another heart attack Sunday.

Last rites will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoskins funeral home with Elder W. A. Holmes of Newton, in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

He was born February 4, 1874, near Stockport in Van Buren county, the son of the late Samuel and Nancy WATSON FICKEL. He was married February 27, 1906, to Della LIBLIN who survives.

For the past 27 years the couple have made their home northeast of Eldon. Before that they had lived on a farm north of Eldon.

Besides his wife Mr. FICKEL is survived by a son, Harold Emery FICKEL, of Eldon; a granddaughter, Ilene FICKEL; and a brother, Alfred, of Fairfield. A brother, John, and a sister, Elizabeth MERTY, preceded him in death.
