MRS. EDITH FARNHAM DIED AT FREEPORT, ILL.

Relatives and friends here were shocked this morning when a message was received telling of the death of Mrs. Verne E. (sic - Vern D.) FARNHAM which occurred at 4:15 o'clock this morning at her home in Freeport, Ill. Her death was due to Spanish Influenza and pneumonia.

Msr. FARNHAM was formerly Miss Edith McCONNELL, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. McCONNELL of this city, and made her home here before her marriage. She is survived by her husband, an infant child (note: born March 6, 1918), her parents and several sisters and a brother.

The remains will be brought to this city for burial, the funeral services probably being held Sunday afternoon.

FUNERAL OF MRS. FARNHAM OCCURS SUNDAY AFTERNOON

The remains of Mrs. Verne FARNHAM who died Friday in Freeport, Ill., arrived in the city last night. The body was taken to the N. E. McCONNEL (sic) home on West Washington street.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock at Evergreen cemetery in charge of Rev. W. R. Keesey of Mt. Plasant (sic).

The Freeport paper contains the following in regard to the death of the young woman:

"Mrs. Edith May FARNHAM, wife of Verne FARNHAM, died this morning at ten o'clock of pneumonia. Mrs. FARNHAM was born in Volga City, Ia. nineteen years ago and came to Freeport, two years ago.

"She is survived by her husband a little son Robert seven months old, her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. E. McCONNELL of Fairfield, Ia., five sisters and two brothers. The remains will be taken to Fairfield for burial."

FARNHAM.

The sad news has reached Fairfield, announcing the death at Freeport, Illinois, of Mrs. Vern FARNHAM, formerly Miss Edith McCONNELL.

The deceased had been suffering about ten days with Spanish influenza which developed into pneumonia. She was taken to the St. Francis hospital at Freeport, where she died Thursday, October 24.

Her sweet disposition won her a host of friends who will sincerely mourn her death.

She was born in Volga City, Iowa, January 5, 1900 (sic - 1899). Later she, with her parents, came to Fairfield, where she received her education in the public schools of the city.

She was united in marriage to Vern FARNHAM April 16, 1916, the couple going to Freeport, Illinois.

Mrs. FARNHAM is survived by her husband, one son, Robert, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. McCONNELL, five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services were condicted by Rev. Keesey of Mt. Pleasant at the Evergreen cemetery where the body was laid to rest.--(Contributed.)
