Mary FARMER is Dead.

Mary Jane CRAWFORD, widow of the late Samuel C. FARMER, sr., died in this city Wednesday evening. She ahd been ill for several months, a sufferer from a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. FARMER was a native of West Virginia, and was born September 18th, 1824. She grw to womanhood and was married there, and came to this state with her husband in 1857. They resided for a few years on a farm near Salina and then came to this city, in 1862, when Mr. FARMER engaged in the banking business. The husband died here in September, 1880. Two children survive the mother, Samuel C. FARMER, jr., of Chicago, and Joseph F. FARMER of this city. Mrs. FARMER was a most excellent woman. In her more active years her home was one of unusual hospitality and she always had a word of sympathy or a kindly act for those in distress. Among the older people of Fairfield she had many friends who will sincerely mourn her death. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, the service being conducted by Rev. W. Luther Bright, pastor of the Lutheran church.
