Front Page, Column 1JOEL S. FARMER (sic) DIES SUDDENLY
Life Long Resident of This City Stricken Sunday A. M. With ApoplexyJoel S. (sic - Joel F.) FARMER passed away yesterday morning at 5 oclock at his home, 907 West Grimes street, following a stroke of apoplexy.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 oclock from the home in charge of Rev. W. C. Monroe. Burial will take place at Evergreen.
He had not been very well the past two weeks but the middle of last week he returned to his duties in the office of the Fairfield Glove and Mitten factory and seemed to be feeling quite well. He was up town Saturday afternoon talking to his many friends.
Mr. FARMER was born June 21, 1854 in West Virginia. He came to this state when 5 years old and settled on a farm with his parents, near Salina. He has been a resident of this city for the past 50 years and has been a very efficient bookkeepeer at the Fairfield Glove and Mitten factory for the past 19 years. He is survived by hsi wife and the following children, Mrs. Helen BENSON of Kansas City, Mrs. Margaret TRAIL of Phoenix, Ariz., and Laurence of Waterloo.
