Jack FACER Dies Today

John C. FACER, Sr., 83, longtime Fairfield resident and retired businessman, died at 10:30 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient since Aug. 11.

The body is at the Raymond Funeral Home where last rites are pending.

FACER was born March 1, 1891. The family home is located at 201 W. Jefferson.

Both he and Mrs. FACER have been patients at the Parkview Care Center for the past few years. His widow survives. He is also survived by one son, John C. FACER Jr., Fairfield.

FACER was in the bakery business in Fairfield for a number of years before his retirement.

FACER Rites Wednesday

Funeral services for John C. "Jack" FACER, Sr., 84, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne LOCKAHRT officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

FACER died at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Jefferson County Hospital where he had been a patient the last eight days. He had been a resident at Parkview Care Center the past four years.

John C. FACER, Sr., was born March 1, 1890 (sic - 1891) in Spring Valley, Ill., the son of Frank and May BISHER FACER. He was reared and educated in Spring Valley.

FACER moved to Fairfield in 1912 where he was employed at the Kirchner Bakery. He was married June 10, 1916, in Fairfield to Margaret G. CLINKENBEARD. They moved to Long Beach, Calif., where he was employed as a cook at the beginning of Knott's Berry Farm.

They moved back to Fairfield in 1925 and he became a partner with James Turner in the Model Bakery which was located at 110 N. Main. The family home is at 201 W. Jefferson.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and a life-member of the B.P.O. Elks.

In addition to his widow, who is a resident of the Parkview Care Center, FACER is also survived by one son, John Charles FACER, Jr. Fairfield; one brother, William FACER, Peru, Ill.; one half-brother, Henry DECOSTA, E. Moline, Ill.

LOCAL ITEMS

--The Rev. and Mrs. Wayne LOCKHART of Fulton, Mo., were in Fairfield Wednesday to attend the last rites for Jack FACER at Raymond Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Rev. LOCKHART officiated at the services. Also here were Mr. and Mrs. Harold JOHNSON of Des Moines. Mrs. JOHNSON and Mrs. LOCKHART are both Mrs. FACER's nieces.

I wish to thank all who sent flowers, cards, and other expressions of sympathy following the death of my father. Thanks also to Dr. and Mrs. Watson, Parkview Care Center personnel and Jefferson county hospital staff for excellent care, and to everyone who is so thoughtful to mother at the Center.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 30TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1974, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF JOHN C. FACER, SR. DECEASED BEARING DATE OF THE 1ST DAY OF JULY, 1960, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT IOWA STATE BANK & TRUST COMPANY WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF SAID ESTATE.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ANY ACTION TO SET ASIDE SAID WILL MUST BE BROUGHT IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF SAID COUNTY WITHIN ONE YEAR FROM THE DATE OF THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE, OR THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.
