DIED.

EVANS.--At her residence, 4 miles north of Fairfield, Iowa, November 16th, 1876, Mrs. Mary EVANS, aged 64 years, 10 months and 4 days.

Mrs. EVANS was a woman of superior intellect and moral force of character. She was for forty years a regular communicant of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Washington county, Pa. She leaves there a large number of warm personal friends and relatives to mourn her departure. She came to Iowa in 1870, where she had a daughter, and three years ago she was joined by her other only remaining child; and thus situated, as to realize all of earth's pleasures, the angel of death visited their little family circle, took her, and left him, an aged man, to walk the path of life alone. She approached the close of her useful life as she had lived, fully supported by Him who had been her guide through life. May the grace of Him who had supported her be sufficient to sustain her husband and the two remaining daughters, when they cherish the name of her, their mother, be led to exclaim:

"My mother! at that holy name
Within my bosom there is a gush
Of feeling, which no time can tame,
And which, for worlds of fame
I would not, could not crush."
