DONNA VAN BLARICOM
Bokeelia, Florida

Donna VAN BLARICOM, 65, of Bokeelia, Florida, passed over to be a spirit in the sky with Jesus on October 27, 2021, peacefully at her daughter's home in Iowa. A private celebration of her life will be held later at Cayo Costa State Park in Captiva, Florida. On the day her light shined bright in heaven, Pastor Danny Cary provided a touching, intimate in-home service for her Iowa family. Memorials and cards can be forwarded to Sierra at 1406 4th St., Batavia, IA 52533 for contribution to the Cayo Costa State Park. Donna was born on September 8, 1956, in Fairfield, IA, to Merlin "Charlie" and Peggy SHIRKEY ELDER. She grew up outside of Fairfield. Donna had a passion for chocolate covered coffee beans, the ocean, while in Florida, boating, water skiing, parasailing, and good times on the river in Iowa. She also loved the splendor of the fireworks and celebrations on the Foruth of July.

Donna graduated from Fairfield High School with the class of 1974. She worked at Rockwell-Arvin Meritor in Fairfield until its closing. She then moved to Florida to enjoy the warm weather. There she shared many wonderful friends at the Home Depot.

Those surviving to carry on her legacy include her daughter, Sierra (Todd) DOVICO; three granddaughters, Abrianna DOVICO, Erika DOVICO and Courtney CASTON; one grandson, Brenden MOFFATT; her mother, Peggy ELDER of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two sisters, Diane (Ron) BEVER of Beggs, OK, and Lori (Jim) MORIARTY of Bentonville, AR; two nieces, Tracie COUCH and Crysta HOOTMAN; three nephews, Gus BRERETON, Evan MORIARTY and Ryan MORIARTY; as well as many extended family and friends.
