Mrs. ELDER, 84, Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Teressa (sic) Ellen ELDER, resident of Jefferson county for over 60 years, passed away Thursday at 10 p.m. at the Kirk Nursing home in Agency (note: in Wapello Co., IA). She had been in failing health the past year but her death was sudden and unexpected.

Last rites will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral home with the Rev. Harold Kruger in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. ELDER, 84, was born Nov. 30, 1875, in Wapello county, the daughter of William and Louica Ann EVANS DAVIS. She was reared and educated in Wapello county.

In November, 1897, she was united in marriage to St. Clair ELDER at Fairfield. He passed away March 28, 1935. Mrs. ELDER had lived in Fairfield for 60 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carroll HANEY who resides southwest of Fairfield; one son, Harley ELDER, Davenport; four grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
