Harry GILBERT

Harry F. GILBERT, 94, died at 9:45 p.m. April 3, 1983, in Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield. He was born Nov. 4, 1888, at Pittsburg, Iowa, to Commodore Perry and Hannah DUGAN GILBERT. He had spent most of his life in the Eldon area where he had worked in construction and the hardware business and later in farming. He was a member of the Eldon Methodist Church, American Legion, Veterans of World War I and a long-time member and past president of the Wapello County Fair Board. He married Helen HANCOCK Aug. 29, 1921, in Oskaloosa.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Betty TODD of Eldon; and two grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Eldon Cemetery with the Rev. David Albert officiating (note: in Wapello Co., IA).
