DIES AT HOME IN LOCKRIDGE

Charles August EKLUND, 75, native of Sweden, died at his home in Lockridge at 5:45 a.m. today following an lengthy illness. He suffered a stroke on March 11 and had been confined to his bed since. He had sufered (sic) two previous strokes last year.

Funeral services will be held Friday at the Lutheran church in Fairfield in charge of Dr. E. A. Piper. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will be taken from the Hoskins funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Mr. EKLUND was born June 4, 1870 in Sweden, the son of the late Carl John and Matilda JOHNSON EKLUND. He had been a resident in the United States 58 years. He lived on a farm near Fairfield for several years then moved to Lockridge 15 years ago. His wife preceded him in death January 4 (sic - 14th), 1929.

He is survived by the following sons and daughter: Elmer EKLUND, Birmingham; Miss Stella EKLUND, at home; Mrs. William LEWIS, Jr., Fairfield; and Alvin EKLUND, Fairfield. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Tillie CLING, Oxford Junction, Iowa; one brother, Rev. Otto EKLUND, Alberta, Canada; and two brothers and three sisters in Sweden.

A daughter, Mrs. George EVERHARDT, passed away 12 years ago, and a son, Paul, died in infancy.
