Etta EDMONDS dies

DOUDS--Etta B. EDMONDS, 97, former Fairfield resident, died at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at the Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua (note: in Van Buren Co., IA).

The daughter of John and Elizabeth RICHARDSON SCOTT, she was born Sept. 15, 1882, near Birmingham. On Jan. 22, 1908, she married William C. GOODSON.

They lived and operated a grocery store in Kirksville, Mo. He died in 1944, after which she moved to Fairfield.

On Feb. 3, 1948, she married Harry L. EDMONDS of Ottumwa. He died in 1949.

She then lived in Ottumwa until she moved to Douds in 1974. She hs been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center since 1975.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ottumwa.

Survivors include a sister, Hazel CUPP of Atlanta, formerly of Fairfield, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, at 1:30 at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Helen Brown, the Rev. L. C. Brown and the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.
