STEPHEN DWYER DIED LAST NIGHT.

Stephen DWYER, one of the oldest resident of Jefferson county died at his home on West Kirkwood street last evening at 7:30 o'clock after an illness of sometime of a complication of diseases. Mr. DWYER was eighty (sic) years of age and had made his home in and near this city since early young manhood.

For many years Mr. DWYER and family resided on a farm near Fairfield and were known as most successful farmers. They moved to this city about eighteen years ago. Here Mr. DWYER was known as a most estimable man with a great strength of character. Ten children were born to Mr. and Mrs. DWYER, four of whom have preceeded (sic) their father in death. The aged wife, four daughters, Mrs. Anna DORSEY of St. Joseph, Mo., Mrs. J CONLEY of Tilden, Neb., Mrs. Winnie HOLLAND of Chicago, and Mrs. C .J. (sic) LODGE of Lincoln, Neb., and two sons, Robert of Lincoln, Neb., and Stephen of Denver, Col., survive him.

Mr. DWYER was a life long member of Saint Mary's Catholic church of this city and the funeral services will be held at the church on Friday morning at ten oclock. The interrment will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Stephen DWYER.

Stephen EWYER (sic), one of the oldest residents of this county, died at his home on West Kirkwood street Tuesday evening, death being due to a complication of diseases from which he had been a sufferer for some time. He was about eighty years old and by far the greater part of his life had been spent in this county.

Mrs. (sic - Mr.) DWYER is survived by his wife and six children: Robert and Mrs. C. J. LODGE of Lincoln, Neb., Stephen of Denver, Mrs. Anna DORSEY of St, Joseph, Mrs. CONLEY of Tilden, Neb., and Mrs. Winnie HOLLAND of Chicago.

Funeral services were held at the Catholic church this morning and interment made in Evergreen cemetery.

Stephen DWYER.

On June the 4th at the family home on West Kirkwood, occurred the death of Stephen DWYER, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of Fairfield. Mr. DWYER was born in Tippersary, Ireland (sic), in the year 1832, and came to Canada at the age of 18. He was married to Honora GOOLEY on August 21st, 1853. To them were born 10 children of whom 6 with Mrs. DWYER survive him. They are: Robert DWYER, of Lincoln, Neb.; Stephen, of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. M. DORSEY, of St. Joseph, Mo.; Mrs. J. M. HOLLAND, of Chicago; Mrs. C. J. LODGE, of Lincoln, Neb.; and Mrs. John CONLEY, of Tilden, Neb., all of whom were present at the funeral, which was held from St. Mary's Catholic church Friday, June 7th. Rev. Father Hogan paid a glowing tribute to the memory of the deceased. He told of the beautiful simple life he led, always attending strictly to his own affairs and always speaking a good word for every one. He was a kind and loving husband and father, and was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. Interment took place in Evergreen cemetery.
