Family rites for Mary DUNBAR

Mary Elizabeth DUNBAR, 70, 809 W. Washington, died at 10:39 a.m. Monday at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

A family service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Diabetes Association and the Heart Fund.

Mrs. DUNBAR was born Sept. 11, 1915 in Fairfield, the daughter of George Herbert "Bert" and Iva Luella BATES BABCOCK. She was reared and educated in Fairfield and lived her adult life in the Fairfield and New London communities, the last 10 years in Fairfield. She married Clair DUNBAR March 12, 1931 in Kahoka, Mo. He died Dec. 26, 1973.

Surviving are four daughters, Clarice DUNBAR of Yuma, Ariz., Christie JACOBS of New London, Mary PETERMAN of Mount Pleasant, Jo Anne VORHIES of Fairfield; two sons, Bill of Fairfield, John of Columbus, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a brother, Kirby BABCOCK of Monrovia, Calif. Her parents and five brothers preceded her in death.
