DUKE SERVICE HELD TODAY

Orin D. DUKE, 75, passed away Friday, February 11th at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. Death was due to a heart attack following the flu. Mr. DUKE was a former resident of this community, having moved to Peoria fifteen years ago. His brother, Elmer E. DUKE, of Birmingham died February 5th, also of a heart attack following an illness.

Mr. DUKE was born April 3, 1868 in Clark County, Iowa. He was married in 1893 to Eva L. COX who passed away in 1902. To this union were born the following children: Mrs. Maye A. WAGER, Chicago and Frank E. DUKE who preceded his father in death in March, 1918.

In 1910 Mr. DUKE was married to Elizabeth FREDERICKS, who survives him. Their children are Russell F. DUKE, a teacher in South America, Donald H. DUKE, a Technical Sergeant in the Air Corps, and Mrs. Kathryn FRITSCH, Detroit, Michigan. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Ida JOHNSON, New Virginia, Iowa; a brother, Clyde Billings, Mont.; grandchildren, Charles Duke WAGER, U.S. Navy, Richard E. WAGER, Chicago, Grace A. WAGER and Martha Jean WAGER, Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends paid their respects at the Cluskey Mortuary in Peoria, and brief services were held today at the Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, in charge of the Hoskins Funeral Home. Rev. S. P. Williamson conducted the service. A daughter, Mrs. Maye DUKE WAGER, of Chicago, accompanied the body here from Peoria yesterday.
