MARY TABBY PALM
Mary Tabby PLAM (sic), the eldest daughter of Vincent and Christian PALM, was born in Cedar township, Jefferson county, Iowa, Aug. 30, 1859 and died Jan. 4, 1926, aged 66 years, 4 months and 5 days.
In 1885 she was married to Louis HOSETTE who died in Dec. 1907. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Noah ERICKSON of Cedar township.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her aged mother, two brothers, Vance and Louise PALM, one sister, Mrs. Mary EMINO (sic - EMONIN), one daughter and three grand children, Della, Reuben and Clarence ERICKSON.
She was a kind and affectionate daughter and sister and a loving mother and grandmother.
She was a home loving body, rarely leaving her own home except to go to the aid of some friend or neighbor who needed help. Her greatest happiness was the care of her aged parents and making life comfortable and pleasant for her loved ones.
After a lingering illness of four months, she was ready and anxious to go and asked to be laid to rest by the side of her little granddaughter, Clara ERICKSON in the Evergreen cemetery.
Rev. Polly had charge of the services. Mrs. Pierson and Graham sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Nearer My Home."
A precious one from us is gone
A voice we loved is stilled
A place is vacant in hour home,
Which never can be filled, but
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boom his love has given
And though the body moulders here
The soul is safe in heaven.~~~~

*Transcribed for genealogy purposes; I have no relation to the person(s) mentioned.Note: Buried in Lot 2nd.058. Mary Tabitha PALM was married twice, first to Louis V. HOSATTE/HOSETTE on May 21, 1885; second to Louis John DROZ (as his second wife), who was a son of Frances & Mary RIVEY DROZ, on October 24, 1895. This is NOT the Louis J. DROZ who is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Lot 2nd.027; Louis John DROZ is buried in Pattison Cemetery with his first wife. Tabby was divorced from both husbands and evidently assumed her maiden name again; she is buried under the PALM surname.
