DEATH CLAIMS LOCAL WOMAN

Last rites will be Tuesday morning for Mrs. Frank M. DROZ, 78, who passed away Saturday at 3:15 p.m. at the Jefferson county hospital where she had been a patient for the past three weeks.

The services will be at 9:00 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic church with the Rev. Father O. F. DeCoursey in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body is at the Monger funeral home.

The Rosary will be recited at 9:00 p.m. this evening at the DROZ home, 403 South Main street.

Elizabeth A. DROZ was born January 9, 1872, in Jefferson county, Iowa, the daughter of the late John and Bridget M. McNAMARA. She was reared and educated in Fairfield.

She was united in marriage to Frank M. DROZ, former Fairfield hardware merchant, who passed away in April, 1933. His place of business was located in the New Chicago area. Mrs. DROZ lived practically her entire life in this community and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church.

She is survived by one son, Lt. Commander John F. DROZ, stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center at Chicago (sic - at Waukegan, IL).

Her parents, husband, one sister and two brothers preceded her in death.

Note: Buried in Lot 3rd.002 with husband Frank. Her obituary notes she was born in 1872, but the birth year on her gravestone is 1867. From the 1900 through 1930 censuses her age is consistent with being born in 1872; she and Frank were nine years apart, he being born in 1863.
