Nellie DOUGLAS Taken In Death

Mrs. Milton DOUGLAS, 95, life-long resident of Jefferson county, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Nursing home. Although she had been in failing health the past six months her death was sudden and unexpected.

Last rites will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond funeral home with the Rev. Ned Gillum and Steven Morse in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Nellie Christina DOUGLAS was born Sept. 9, 1870, in Jefferson county, the daughter of Frederick and Christine BOWERMASTER. She was reared and educated in Jefferson county and spent her entire life in this community. She was a member of the Christian church.

She was united in marriage on Nov, 14, 1893, in Fairfield to Milton DOUGLAS. He preceded his wife in death on Dec. 2, 1934.

Survivors include one son, Floyd DOUGLAS, Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Nora WISE and Mrs. Beatrice WARD, both of Fairfield; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a brother, Homer BOWERMASTER, Downey, Calif.

Mrs. DOUGLAS was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
