Laid to rest on Thursday, Dec. 21, 1893, were the remains of little Harry, youngest son of Mark and Emma DOUGHTY, aged 6 months. That ever fatal disease, croup, laid its fangs on the little one, and when the shadows of the still night brightened into day the fresh young soul was standing within the vail, gazing lovingly on the lamb that was slain. He was a bright little fellow and will be greatly missed by his parents who have the consoling thought that their loved one has escaped the numberless sorrows incident to this life and has gone to swell the number of those of whom the Saviour has said "Of such is the kingdom of Heaven."
Dearest Harry, how we miss thee,
None, oh! none, on earth can tell.
But the blessed Lord has called thee
To go home with him to dwell.Thou art gone from earth forever,
And to us can ne'er return.
But we can go to thee to dwell
If we lived a crown to earn.Hard it is to give our darling up,
Give us, oh! such bitter pain.
But we are told and must acknowledge
That our great loss is thy gain.J. R.
