A Good Woman Summoned.

Elizabeth Jane SIMPSON, wife of the late Robert A. DOUGHERTY, died in this city Thursday morning. She had been ill for several months as the result of a fall and from troubles incidental to advanced years. Mrs. DOUGHERTY was born at Brighton, O., March 14th, 1831, and came to Jefferson county with her parents in 1847. She was married near Pleasant Plain September 24th, 1850, and the remainder of her life was spent on a farm home in Cedar township and in this city. Mr. DOUGHERTY died October 31st, 1893. They were the parents of six children, only one of whom is living, Mrs. William A. WARWICK of this city, with whom the mother had made her home for many years. Mrs. DOUGHERTY had been a member of the Presbyterian church of this city since 1861. In her earlier life she was active in the good works of the society, and in later years she never neglected the call of the church. She was a woman of intelligence and refinement, and had always faithfully discharged every obligation which came to her in the home or in the community. Funeral services were held in this city Saturday and were conducted by Rev. W. F. Jones.
