DOUGHERTY rites Monday

Charline DOUGHERTY, 75, 800 South 9th, died at 5:33 p.m. Friday at the Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Libertyville Community Center.

Charline DOUGHERTY was born Oct. 3, 1909, at Keosauqua. She was the daughter of William and Bertha STINE JASPER (sic - William Jasper and Bertha STINE COOKSEY). She was married Jan. 7, 1927, to Merle M. DOUGHERTY in Fairfield. He died Nov. 17, 1984.

Mrs. DOUGHERTY spent most of her life in the Libertyville and Fairfield communities and was a former employee of the Beatrice Creamery of Ottumwa. She was a member of the Suburban Heights Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters: Rose HANSEN, Fairfield; Irene GIRE, St. Charles, Mo.; Sue Ann WILSON, Le Sueur, Minn.; two sons, Jim DOUGHERTY, Libertyville; and Marty DOUGHERTY, Fairfield.

Other survivors include 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond D. COOKSEY and Merrill F. COOKSEY, both of Fairfield; also two sisters, Ruth DENNEY and Marcene GILL, both of Fairfield. She was preceded in death by a brother.
