Betty DIMMITT dies at 53

Betty Jean DIMMITT, 53, of 1003 S. Seventh St., died at 4:25 a.m. today at Jefferson County Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. DIMMITT was born Nov. 30, 1931, in Port Byron, Ill., the daughter of Francis and Florence McCABE BROOKS. She attended school in Fairfield and Washington and graduated from Fremont High School.

She married James R. DIMMITT June 21, 1951 at the First Christian Church in Fairfield. She lived most of her married life in Fairfield and was a beautician.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. DIMMITT is survived by one daughter Linda McENTIRE of Burlington, two granddaughters, her mother Amel BROOKS of Parkview Care Center, a sister Mary June ADAM of Keota and one brother John David BROOKS of Lake City, Fla.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
