JOHN DILL DIED AT STOCKPORT HOME.

From Monday's Daily.

Many friends in this city were shocked this morning to learn of the death of John DILL which occurred at his home in Stockport yesterday afternoon about five o'clock. Mr. DILL's death was quite sudden and was a severe blow to his family and relatives.

He was the oldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John DILL and made his home in this city for a number of years. He was well and favorably known here by a large number of friends and acquaintances.

John Albert DILL was born September 7 1868 (sic - 1867) near Birmingham, in Van Buren county, and when yet a child his parents moved to this city. After reaching the years of young manhood he spent a number of years in traveling for eastern firms and earned the reputation of being a successful traveling salesman. On August 1, 1901, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Vienna DAVIDSON in Keosauqua, who survives him. He is also survived by a step son to whom he gave a fathers care, and one sister Mrs. Lee LOEHR and one brother Bert both of whom reside in this city.

Since his marriage Mr. DILL had made his home in and near Stockport, residing for the past three years on what is known as the DILL farm about three miles north west of Stockport. He was for several years identified with the mercantile business of that city and is well known and highly esteemed by the people of that community.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Birmingham and of the Knights of Pythias and Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Stockport.

Mr. DILL had been suffering from a complication of diseases all winter but had never been confined to his bed and no alarm was felt over his condition by his relatives. A few days ago he took a heavy cold and it is supposed that this aided in affection the action of the heart and the end came yesterday almost without warning.

It is thought that the remains will be brought to this city and interred by the side of relatives int he (sic) family lots in Evergreen cemetery.

The funeral will probably be held here Wednesday morning.
