DIERS Funeral To Be Saturday

Mrs. Frank DIERS, life-time resident of Jeffeson county and a resident of Fairfield for the past 18 years, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at her home, 102 S. Second street. She had been ill for the past year and in serious condition the past four months.

Last rites will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. Harold Kruger in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will be taken from the Raymond funeral home to the church at 1 p.m. on the day of the services.

Anna Elizabeth CRILE DIERS, 83, was born Oct. 2, 1876, in Jefferson county, the daughter of Julius and Marie Wilhelmina HANKAMMER CRILE. She was reared and educated in Walnut township in northeast Jefferson county.

She was married to Frank DIERS on Feb. 19, 1902. The wedding took place at the home of her parents. She had lived in the county all of her life and in Fairfield since 1942.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Germanville Lutheran church, and was a member of the First Lutheran church in Fairfield at the time of her death. Her husband passed away Nov. 29, 1956.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Mrs. DIERS is survived by two daughters and one son; Mrs. Gilbert ENGWALL and Mrs. Clarence BERG, both of Fairfield; and Julius DIERS, Brighton rural route.

She is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, John CRILE, Fairfield, and Ben CRILE, Mt. Pleasant; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida PAUL and Mrs. Minnie CRILE, both of Birmingham.
