DONNA RAE CONNELLY
Brighton

Donna Rae CONNELLY, 66, of Brighton, died Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA). She was born November 7, 1954, in Fairfield to Ernest Dale and Ledoris Jane POLSON JACOBS. She grew up in Ottumwa and attended school in Ottumwa and Pekin. Donna married Scott CONELLY in Fairfield on September 28, 1971. She was a housewife and worked at the calendar factory and at McDonalds in Washington. Family was always her priority but she loved to camp and fish and she became an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Donna is survived by her husband, Scott; children, Alex CONNELLY of Richland and Michael CONNELLY (Mario) of Coralville; five grandchildren, Allan (and Taylor), Anna, Jared, Rowan and Michael; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters, Diane FARMER (Bill) of Brighton, Doris RUMP and friend John of Ottumwa and Deborah APPLEGETT and companion Randy Wagner of Ottumwa; and her brother, Ernest JACOBS Jr. of Phoenix, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Donna Sue; and son, Joseph Allan.

Funeral services will be held following visitation 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, with Pastor Rick Hughes officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials to the Brighton Volunteer First Responders may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 105 S. Benton St., Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
