Former resident dead at 93

Robert DENISON, 93, former Fairfield resident, died Wednesday evening at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville (note: in Marion Co., IA).

DENISON was born July 3, 1893, in Sigourney to John and Sarah RUBEY DENISON. He was united in marriage to Ella V. SHONDEL in July 1919. She died December 3, 1943.

He was a veteran of World War I in the Army and was employed by the Dexter Company for 27 years.

DENISON is survived by four sons, Arthur of Albia, Noble of Davenport, Stanley of Madison, Wisc., and Henry of Sacramento, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and one son, Robert.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. James Battey officiating. Burial will be with military rites at Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation wil be 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Fund.
