Illness Fatal To Mrs. DEMPSEY, 88

Mrs. Mary DEMPSEY, 88, died Monday at 8:30 p.m. at her home at 302 N. Fifth St. A resident of Fairfield for 42 years, she had been seriously ill for two months.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. James Robertson. Burial wil be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. DEMPSEY was born May 6, 1868 (sic - 1867), at Grayson, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Lucy ROBERTS VINCENT. She was married to Emert H. DEMPSEY June 24, 1886 at Olive Hill, Ky. He preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1940.

She was a member of the Presbyterian church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Royal Neighbors.

Mrs. DEMPSEY is survived by the following children: Mrs. Clara NEWLON, John E. DEMSPEY, Mrs. Lucy OATS, Mrs. Julia STANSBERY (sic - STANSBERRY), and Mrs. Frances PADGETT, all of Fairifeld; Mrs. Kathryn HARR and Karl DEMPSEY, Fort Madison; Thomas E. DEMPSEY, Patterson, Calif.; and Mrs. Gladys THACKER, Winfield.

Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and two brothers, Thomas E. VINCENT, Fairfield; and Joseph VINCENT, Dodge, Kan.
