Little Mary DAVIS, who was born January 4, 1909, was called to her heavenly home Sunday afternoon, November 27, 1921, at 2:30 o'clock. This little sunbeam has gone to be with her brother Ralph, and wait our coming.
Her death came as a shock to her grief stricken family and friends. She died from inflammation of the veins, and was sick only ten days--two of these she wanted to go to school. She was in Miss Berg's room at the Central building. The girls in her class attended the funeral in a body, and six of her girl friends--Dorris Gilmer, Alice Ricketts, Camilla Rider, Leona Shultz, Mary Wright and Lois Polly--acted as honorary pall bearers.
Mary was a thoughtful and lovable child, always thankful for any little kindness extended to her. She will be greatly missed by her many little playmates, neighbors and friends.
She leaves to mourn her loss her parents, a brother, Raymond of Plymouth, Ind., and four sisters, Mrs. A. C. JOHNSON, Mrs. Norvell SWITZER, Helen and Kathryn DAVIS, all of this city.
Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, R. H. Polly, at the Christian church, Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
So the king called down from the angel's dome,
Said the children up in heaven,
My little darling, arise and come
To the place preapared in the Father's home,
The house my children live in.
Let's go and watch the gates of pearl,
Ready to welcome the new little girl,
Said the children up in heaven.~~~~
