Mrs. Mary L. DAVIS died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. BATES, north of this city, Monday evening, Sept. 29th, aged 73 years. Was mother of ten children, six of whom survive her. Funeral services were held Tuesday at her daughter's and the remains brought here for burial.

Note: Buried in Evergreen Cemetery, in Lot Old.P.238. She was the wife of Elliott DAVIS who died in 1882 and is buried with her. Her maiden name was LINN according to the gravestone, but has also been found as LYNN; which version is correct is not certain at this posting.
