ALMOST 86 YEARS OLD

William DAVIDSON, an old and highly respected citizen of this county, died at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs Mary DAVIDSON, Saturday afternoon at 3:10 o'clock after an illness of four weeks of Bright's disease.

Mr. DAVIDSON was born in Harrison County, Ohio April 16, 1812 (sic - 1822) and in early young manhood was united in marriage to Miss Christina SHEPLER.

On April 12, 1888 Mr. and Mrs. DAVIDSON with their two sons, Samuel and James, moved to Jefferson county and settled on a farm northwest of this city.

Mrs. DAVIDSON and one son, James, have preceded him in death. About two years ago Mr. DAVIDSON with his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary DAVIDSON, moved to this city. Mr DAVIDSON is survived by his son, Samuel.

The funeral services were held this afternoon at one o'clock from the home on West Briggs street by Rev. S. B Ross.

Death of an Aged Citizen.

William DAVIDSON died Saturday, the 4th inst., at the home of his daughterinlaw, Mrs. Mary DAVIDSON, on North Fifth street, after a long illness of Bright's disease. Mr. DAVIDSON was born in Harrison county, Ohio, April 16th, 1822, grew to manhood there and was married October 10th, 1849, to Miss Christina SHEPLER. To this union two sons were born--Samuel F. and James H. In 1888 the family came to Jefferson county, and after the death of Mrs. DAVIDSON, in 1890, and the son James, Mr. DAVIDSON and his daughter moved to Fairfield. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the home, by Rev. S. B. Ross, and interment made in Evergreen cemetery.

Death of William DAVIDSON.

William DAVIDSON, an old resident of Jefferson county, died in this city Saturday, April 4, at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary DAVIDSON. He had been suffering for about four weeks with Bright's disease.

Deceased was almost 86 years old. He was born in Harrison county, O., April 16, 1822, and grew to manhood near Hopedale of that county. He was married to Christena SHEPPLER Oct. 10, 1849. Two children were born to them, Samuel F. and James H. April 12, 1888, they came to Iowa with their son James. Two years later, after settling in Jefferson county, in 1890, his wife died, and a year later his son James died. He made his home with his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary DAVIDSON, on a farm, until Nov. 10, 1905, when he came with her to Fairfield ,and (sic) has lived in this city up until the time of his death. He leaves one son, Samuel, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one sister, who lives in Urbana, O., to mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent father and brother.

Funeral services were held at the home at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Samuel Ross. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.

He was born in Harrison County, Ohio, where he grew to manhood and was married. Two children, Samuel F. and James H., were born to them. In 1888, they came to this county with their son James. In 1890 his wife died and the following year his son James died. He made his home with his daughterinlaw on the farm until 1905, when she moved to town and he came with her and remained until his death. The funeral was held at the home Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Samuel Ross.
