Died in Infancy.

(contributed)

A sad duty is that of recording the death of Nina Blanche, youngest child of Floyd and Pearl DAVIDSON. The little one had only reached the age of 17 months and three days (sic - 11m 3d) and had never enjoyed robust health. The hot weather together with teething was too much for her frail little constitution, and three weeks ago she was taken critically ill. Wednesday evening August 21 the little sufferer passed away.

Rev. Betts of the Christian church spoke comforting words to the bereaved ones at the home, then the little form was tenderly carried to Evergreen cemetery and laid to rest.

Death of Nina DAVIDSON.

Little Nine Blanche (sic) DAVIDSON, aged 11 months and 3 days, died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd DAVIDSON, on last Wednesday, August 21st, after an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Betts, of the Christian church. Mr. and Mrs. DAVIDSON have the sympathy of their many friends in their great sorrow.

The following verses are dedicated to the memory of the little one:

At home, dear child, with the angels,
Of joy e'er full overflowing;
Your pearly brow fairer than here,
Your spirit so glad, past our knowing!

We weep for you, Nina, sweet one,
Because from our circle you've gone;
But gladly we think of your glory,
Amid the pure heavenly child-throng.

How happy we've been in our home,
So blessed by your gentle life, given;
It seems than an angel in flesh,
Has dwelt with us coming from Heaven.

In His arms Jesus takes you we know;
He has said, "Come unto me, little one."
The finest, the brightest, the purest are his--
He claims you, our love, for his own.

But one of us yet you must be,
A link on our family chain.
Joining earth to the Glorified land,
Drawing us to that fairer domain.
Though absent, we love you the more,
Our hearts will e'er keep you a place,
Till death shall bear us to the shore
Where meeting will part never more.

Death of the Household Pet.

A sad duty and a most painful one is that of writing the obituary of such a sweet little pet as Nina Blanche, the youngest daughter of Floyd and Pearl DAVIDSON. The little one had reached the age of eleven months and three days. Death is always an unwelcome visitor. Its coming brings sorrow and sadness and fills our hearts with grief and makes homes desolate where all was joy and peace. But it has been said that Death borders upon our birth and our cradle stands in the grave.

Nina had never enjoyed very robust health and the intensely hot weather together with teething was too much for her frail little condition. Three weeks ago she was taken with dysentary (sic). The best medical aid was summoned but it was to no avail. For the last ten days no hopes were given to the sorrowing parents, but all watched through hope and fear but as the sun sank slowly to rest Wednesday evening, Aug. 21, 1907, little Nina's heart ceased beating and then we knew it was all over with her. The parents have the consoling thought that they have a sweet little angel in Heaven. While our sympathy cannot assuage their sorrow. We know only that the loss of our children to be of all losses the hardest to bear and our love for them of all earthly attachments the most endurable. We plead with the parents to be hopeful that little Nina's spirit has been rescued from the winds and waves of this life. She was such a sweet little pet and it is so hard to realize that she is gone. And as we gazed upon her as she lay in her little casket amid a bed of flowers she looked so sweet and pure, the thought came to us, Why, oh why was she taken. But it is well with little Nina.

Rev. Betts spoke comforting words to the bereaved ones at the home and then the little casket was tenderly carried to the Evergreen cemetery and laid to rest.
