Richland

James Edward GREEN, 75, of Richland, died Wednesday, June 17, 2021, at his home. He was born June 1, 1946, in Fairfield to Richard Henry and Elba Jean HOSKINS GREEN. Ed moved to Richland with his family in 1956, attended school in Richland, graduated from Pekin High School in 1964, and attended San Diego State University. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy with his brother after high school and lived in California and Texas. Ed worked in various professions, including sales, construction and farming. His passions were his family, friends, motorcycles, surfing, dirt racing, craftsman, mechanics and community. He married Barbara Jeanne THOMPSON in San Diego in 1969 and they were later divorced.

Ed is survived by his children, Janae JOHNSON (Sean) of Charlotte, N.C., and Jami CANTELLO (Jody) of Plano, Texas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sisters, Sue GILL (Bill) of Richland and Janet Sue CANTRELL of Springfield, Mo.; his brother, Dick GREEN (Pat) of Brighton; sister-in-law, Rachel GREEN of Phoenix, Ariz.; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ron; infant brother, Roger Lee; and uncle and aunt, James and Lois HOSKINS.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday June 26, 2021, in the Richland Park Pavilion with Pastor Jerry Hoover officiating. A visitation will be held in the park immediately before the service, beginning at 2 p.m. Military honors will be provided by the Richland American Legion Post No. 504. Burial will be in Richland Methodist Cemetery (note: in Keokuk Co., IA). Memorials to Richland Fire and Rescue may be left at the service or mailed to Sue GILL at 204 W. North Street, Richland, IA 52585. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is assisting the family.
