Helen Tarrence Vroman, 80, formerly of Packwood, died Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Danville Care Center in Danville.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Center Cemetery in Packwood.

Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Family visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday immediately preceding the funeral.

A general memorial has been established.

Mrs. Vroman was born April 17, 1925, near Linby, the daughter of Clarence and Lucy Clingman Book. She married Kenneth Tarrence Dec. 13, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He died Nov. 15, 1991. She married Lawrence Vroman Jan. 23, 1997, in East Moline, Ill.

She worked at Metromail in Mount Pleasant for 20 years and was a homemaker. She lived in Packwood until moving to Olds in 1964 and East Moline in 1997.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of East Moline; four sons, Darrell Tarrence and wife Connie of New London, Dale Tarrence and wife Cindy of Mount Pleasant, Duane Tarrence and wife Bette of Burlington and Dennis Tarrence of Nashville, N.C.; three stepchildren, Lawrence Vroman Jr. of Orion, Ill., Anson Vroman of Port Byron, Ill., and Debbie Hanson of Clinton; four sisters, Thelma Hadley of Ollie, Ina Sasseen of Packwood, Audrey Hill of St. Louis, Mo., and LaVon Tuttle of Medford, Ore.; one brother, Kay Book of Packwood.; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; her parents; and one great-grandson.
