SAMUEL CULLER DIED SUDDENLY LAST EVENING AT COURT HOTEL

Samuel V. CULLER, a resident of Fairfield since 1892, and well known in the city, passed away about nine o'clock last evening, following a very brief illness. Mr. Miller (sic - CULLER?) had purchased property recently on North Second street, and was preparing to locate there. He decided to spend the night at the Court Hotel, and registered for a room about seven o'clock, and complained of feeling chilled.

He retired early and about eight-thirty he was heard moaning, and upon entering the room the hotel clerk found him seriously ill. A physician was immediately summoned, but CULLER had passed away before his arrival. Death is thought to have been due to an attack of heart trouble. Mr. CULLER was known to have been in poor health for some time.

Samuel CULLER was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael CULLER, and was born in Carroll county, Indiana, Nov. 6, 1848. He is survived by two brothers, Joe of Mt. Pleasant, who came to Fairfield today, and Henderson CULLER of Venetta, Okla. He had been a resident of Fairfield for the past eight years.

The body was removed from the hotel to the Kerrick undertaking parlors. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Free Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Louis Mendenhall. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery.
